Getting out of the airport in Paris

Taxis between the Paris airports and the city run on a legally fixed flat fare rather than the meter, and the RER B rail link needs a separate airport ticket that the ordinary metro ticket does not cover.

Taxi journeys between Charles de Gaulle and Paris are charged at a fixed flat fare, not on the meter: 56 euros to the Right Bank of the Seine and 65 euros to the Left Bank. Service-Public lists these as a direct run valid in both directions. Orly is 45 euros to the Right Bank and 36 euros to the Left Bank. The same figures are confirmed on the 2026 fares notice published 16 January 2026.

Service-Public gives three distinguishing marks for a legal taxi: an illuminated rectangle on the roof carrying the word taxi, a taximeter measuring time and distance, and a plate fixed to the vehicle and visible from outside showing the licence number.

From 1 January 2026 the ordinary Metro-Train-RER ticket costs 2.55 euros, and it is not valid at the airport stations served by RER B, at Orlyval, or at the Orly station on metro line 14. The separate Paris Region to Airports ticket, 14 euros full price and 7 euros reduced from 1 January 2026, is the one that covers a journey to or from Orly or Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle from anywhere in Ile-de-France.

Worth knowing before you pick RER B late. The UK Foreign Office records several cases of serious assault on RER line B, which it describes as serving Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, Orly airport and the Gare du Nord Eurostar terminus.
