Cabin crew
Open days, the reach test, and the assessment that runs on the day.
Published by Emirates Group Careers, Qatar Airways Careers · read 31 August 2026
The largest crew population and the one with the most applicants per seat. Almost everything that decides the outcome is published by the airline before you apply, and most of what circulates online is not.
Entry requirements
What a named publisher says you must already have. Most readers pass or fail here, and finding out on this page costs nothing.
- Age
- Height and reach
- Education
- English
- Experience
- Tattoos
- The right to work there
Selection process
Every stage below is published by Emirates Group Careers, and no second organisation's process is sourced for this role. Read it as one publisher's account rather than as a survey of the industry.
Apply online first
Emirates states its recruitment events are “Open Day” or “Invite only”, and that online assessments are not offered. Turning up without an application is not the route.

What nobody publishes: ask the employer
- Neither airline publishes how many candidates are cut at each stage. Figures circulating on coaching sites are not sourced to the carriers and are not repeated here.
- The reach test's exact method is described differently across coaching sites. One part of it is published: Emirates' own cabin crew job posting, read 23 September 2026, says the 212cm may be reached “while standing on tiptoes, to enable you to reach emergency equipment on all aircraft types”. Neither carrier says whether shoes are worn or when in the process the measurement is taken. Ask at the event rather than trusting a blog.
- Qatar Airways' cabin crew posting does not describe its recruitment event stages. Only Emirates publishes a stage list.
